TrueNorth. Every Day.

The City Launch

The City launches this Sunday!  What can you expect?  Watch this.

Cross Training Sports Camp is Coming

Don’t let your child miss TNC’s Cross Training Sports Camp beginning June 4-8, from 8:30 -11:45 am for kids ages 6-12. Its popularity and fun is unmatched in North Augusta. It was one of the largest sports camps held at Riverview Park the past few summers.

The Camp Director is our Lead Pastor, Steve Davis. Sign your child up for basketball or soccer camp. Brochures and registration forms are available at Guest Services, Riverview Park and the TNC offices at The Blok. Questions? Leave a comment or call theTNC offices at 803-279-1555. Cost is $50 and includes a t-shirt. We look forward to seeing your child at camp!

Weird in Relationships

If you want to ruin every relationship in your entire life, play fair.  Don’t play fair.  Be the friend you wish others were to you instead of being a victim:

In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law of the Prophets (Matthew 7:12 NASB.)

In order to have a friend, you have to be a friend.  Keep love and truth in your relationships, but drop your sword.

Love your enemies:

If you love only someone who loves you, will God praise you for that? Even sinners love people who love them. If you are kind only to someone who is kind to you, will God be pleased with you for that? Even sinners are kind to people who are kind to them. If you lend money only to someone you think will pay you back, will God be pleased with you for that? Even sinners lend to sinners because they think they will get it all back. But love your enemies and be good to them. Lend without expecting to be paid back. Then you will get a great reward, and will be the true children of God in heaven. He is good even to people who are unthankful and cruel (Luke 6:32-35 CEV.)

Stop keeping score, but rather run up the score:

Don’t let evil conquer you, but rather conquer evil by doing good (Romans 12:21 NLT.)

Act like a 5 yr. old.  Live for I’m okay, you’re okay. You were created to reflect God’s image, not some fantasy of your own imagination. It is essential to being used by God:

How terrible for you, teachers of the law and Pharisees! You pretenders! You clean the outside of the cup and dish. But on the inside you are full of greed. You only want to satisfy yourselves. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish. Then the outside will also be clean (Matthew 23:25, 26 NIRV.)

Be messy.  Move from survival to surrender:

If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it (Matthew 10:39 NLT.)

Become a powerful tool for God with an available, accessible, and responsible heart:

If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work (2 Timothy 2:21 NLT.)

The City Info and Q&A This Saturday

It’s been in the e-NEWS, in your program, and on truenorthchurch.com.  The City is coming soon to TrueNorth Church.  But what is it?  Although we are still a little while off from revealing The City to everyone, we are giving you the opportunity to get an early unveiling this Saturday morning at The Blok, 1297 W. Martintown Rd. in North Augusta, starting at 10 am.

From 10 am to 11 am, you will be guided through The City, get to ask questions, and be among the firsts at TrueNorth to have the opportunity to be invited!

From 11 am to 12 pm, this session will shift gears toward all our Journey Land and KidzStuff volunteer staff, who will learn more about how The City will become a pivotal part of their Sunday morning activities.

See you Saturday, and see you on The City!

Blood Donations Needed

There are many patients in our local hospitals right now who are in need of your blood donations.  Supplies are currently low and the need is great.  If you are interested in donating blood, the Shepeard Community bloodmobile will be on hand this Sunday, March 11, on the TNC campus. Your one donation will help save three local lives.  We are grateful for your ongoing support, and we need your presence this week.

‘Weird,’ Daylight Saving Time This Sunday

We are free to live different, and doing so makes us “weird.” Get ready for an eye-opening series that begins this Sunday which will encourage you to carry out your faith even when it means marching to a different drum than everyone else. Who ever said we were the same?

Also, set your clocks one hour ahead this Saturday night, as Sunday begins Daylight Saving Time. (The 8:30 service crowd is encouraged to take a nice nap and enjoy the extra hour of sun later in the day!)

See you Sunday, and consider it an honor if we call you “weird”!

Easter Eggstravaganza Dates and Details

Easter Eggstravaganza is back this year on Saturday, March 24 from 10 am to 2 pm at Ridgeview Manor, and Sunday, March 25 at Gentry’s Mobile Home Park. There will be a huge Easter egg hunt, blow-ups, food, games, and a whole lot of fun! Bring your family out for a great time. The “Ridge Kids” and adults in the neighborhood alike look forward to this event each year, and it wouldn’t be possible without your help! If you would like to volunteer, or just get more information about the event, email Nina Fiedler at ninaf@truenorthchurch.com.

God’s Dreams Do Come True

As TrueNorth Church officially turns seven today, it is a reminder of what God is able to do with our dreams.  For Associate Pastor Gene Jennings, seeing TNC come to be was a long time in the making.

Check out his thoughts here.

Happy Birthiversary, TNC!
